Using On2's Flix Live encoder

Step by step instructions for using On2's Flix Live encoder with Wowza Pro.

Download and install Wowza Media Server Pro (may already exist if examples installed).

Create a new Wowza Pro application for streaming.

Create the folder [install-dir]/applications/streamtest.

Create the folder [install-dir]/conf/streamtest.

Copy the file [install-dir]/conf/Application.xml into this new folder [install-dir]/conf/streamtest.

Edit the newly copied Application.xml and change Streams/StreamType to live.

Startup the Wowza Pro server.

Hook up webcamera to PC

Download and install On2 Flix Live.

Startup On2 Flix Live and click the Advanced... button.

Make sure Send to server is checked and the url is rtmp://[server-ip-address]/streamtest (where [server-ip-address] is the ip address of the server running Wowza Pro) and the stream name is myStream.

Click Go! button (video is now being published to Wowza Pro).

To play the stream, double click the On2 Flix Live example player ([install-dir]/On2FlixLive/client/On2FlixLivePlayer.html), enter the following values and click Play:

Server: rtmp://[server-ip-address]/streamtest
Stream: myStream

where [server-ip-address] is the ip address of the server running Wowza Pro

Windows (default): C:\Program Files\Wowza Media Systems\Wowza Media Server Pro
Mac OS X: /Library/WowzaMediaServerPro
Linux: /usr/local/WowzaMediaServerPro
